A long term removes your only real leverage — the ability to leave. If the agency underperforms in month two, you have the rest of the term to endure it. Multi-year lock-ins are how creators end up trapped with agencies they hate.

12 months maximum, ideally with a 30-day no-fault exit for both sides.
