Why we built this
Creator platforms have made a lot of people self-employed overnight, with no payroll, no HR, no accountant and no warning. The software that showed up to help was mostly built for the agencies taking a cut — not for the person doing the work.
If you look at the tools sold into this industry, a pattern jumps out. They're priced per creator, per month, which is only a sensible model if the buyer has several creators. They measure messages sent, upsell conversion and chatter throughput. They report gross revenue, because gross is the number that makes a 40% commission sound reasonable.
Nobody was building the boring half: what did you actually keep, what do you owe, and is the contract you signed quietly taking more than you think?
What we believe
Gross is a vanity number.
The only figure that matters is what's left after the platform, the agency, the chargebacks and the tax. We call it True Net, we put it at the top of every screen, and we show our working so you can check it.
A tool that takes a percentage isn't on your side.
If we earned more when you grossed more, we'd have a quiet reason to stop pointing out where your money goes. So we charge one flat price and take nothing from your income. It also means we can tell you plainly when your agency is the most expensive line in your business.
You should never hand over your passwords.
Not to us, not to an agency, not to anyone. Your platform account is the business. We never ask for a login, and our contract reviewer treats a credential-transfer clause as one of the most serious things a contract can contain.
Honest beats optimistic.
Our tax estimates round toward owing slightly more, because being over is an inconvenience and being under is a bill you didn't plan for. If we haven't verified a tax year's figures yet, the app says so instead of quietly using last year's. If a deduction is frequently challenged, we tell you that rather than letting you find out during an audit.
Your privacy is part of the product.
We store no content — there's no upload for it, so it isn't a setting that can be changed. Your legal name lives apart from your stage name. Discreet mode exists because people do their books in public places. And you can export and delete everything without asking us.
What we're not
- Not a chat tool. No DM automation, no mass messaging, no AI pretending to be you. That's the agency-software business and it's crowded.
- Not a payment processor. We never hold, route or touch your earnings. Money goes from the platform to you, exactly as it does now.
- Not your accountant or your lawyer. We give you estimates and a well-informed second read. Both are much better than nothing and neither replaces a professional on something that matters.
- Not affiliated with any platform. We support many; we speak for none of them.
Where we are today
keep.fans is new. The income tracking, True Net engine, chargeback ledger, expense taxonomy, US federal tax engine and contract reviewer are all working. Statement imports, invoicing and non-US tax coverage are in progress. We'd rather ship a smaller thing that's correct than a bigger thing that quietly isn't — this is money, and a confidently wrong number is worse than no number.
